Gilberto de Godoy Filho – Giba
Gilberto Amauri de Godoy Filho – aka Giba (born December 23rd 1976 in Londrina, Brazil) – Brazilian volleyball player, receiver, on many occasions member of the Brazil national team.
As a member of the Brazil national team, eight-time winner of the World League, three-time winner of the World Championship, winner of the World Grand Champions Cup, two-time winner of the World Cup, winner of the gold medal at the Olympic Games in Athens, 2004.
Together with the Brazil national team, he won gold at the World Championship in Japan in 2006, and was awarded the title of MVP.
Sportsman of the year in 2006 in Brazil. Married to Cristina Pirv, former Romanian volleyball player; father of daughter Nicol and son Patrick. He finished his career with the national team after the Olympic Games in London.
