Maria Liktoras
Maria Liktoras – Ukrainian volleyball player with Polish citizenship, playing as a middle hitter, member of Polish women’s national team. Champion of Europe of 2003.
Until 1997 she played in Dynamo Odessa, a Ukrainian team. From 1997 she played in the Polish league. She played in Chemik Police (1997–1998) and Nafta Piła (1998–2003). From 2003 she played in Winiary Kalisz and from 2006 in Balakovskaya Balakovo, a Russian team. Next, she played in Dynamo Moscow.
She obtained Polish citizenship in 2001 and debuted in the national team in 2003. In the same year she won gold at the European Championship. Due to an injury, she did not play in the European Championship in 2005.
In 2008, Marco Bonitta called her up to the national team for the Olympic Games in Beijing. After the event, she finished her career in the national team together with Małgorzata Glinka-Montegale. She finished her career because of getting pregnant.
