Mirosław Rybaczewski
Mirosław Rybaczewski – former Polish volleyball player, member of the Polish national team, World Champion (Mexico, 1974) and Olympic Champion (Montreal, 1976).
Awards and achievements
Three-time Champion of Poland (1973, 1976, 1978), three-time runner-up (1974, 1977, 1980), two-time bronze medallist of the Polish Championship (1975, 1982), two-time Polish Cup winner (1972, 1982) and a finalist (2nd place) in the CEV Cup Winners’ Cup in 1977/78. When he finished playing in Poland (1982), he became a player and coach of ASBF Tolouse.
He was selected for the national team 167 times (1973−1980). He was Vice-Champion of the European Junior Championship (Barcelona, 1971). He participated in the World Championship in Mexico (1974) and the Olympic Games in Montreal (1976). He played twice in the World Cup: in Prague in 1973 (2nd place) and in Tokyo in 1977 (4th place). Silver medallist of the European Championship in Belgrade (1975).
The best Polish volleyball player in ‘Przegląd Sportowy’ ranking in 1976. He received the gold Medal for Outstanding Sporting Performance twice and the Golden Cross of Merit.
He was chosen the best volleyball player in the history of AZS Olsztyn.
