Vladimir Grbić
Vladimir Grbić – Serbian volleyball player, played in the Serbia national team more than 300 times. Olympic champion in Sydney in 2000. European champion of 2001. One of the world’s best volleyball players of the 20th/21st centuries. Brother of Nikola Grbić, another famous Serbian volleyball player. As a member of the Serbia and Montenegro national team, he participated in the World Championship 2006 in Japan, where Serbia and Montenegro took 4th place, having been beaten by Bulgaria in the bronze medal match. In 2000, he was appointed standard bearer for the Yugoslavia national team at the Olympic Games in Sydney.
At present, Vladimir Grbić is one of the four vice-presidents of the Serbian Volleyball Federation and member of the FIVB Development Commission. On October 27th 2011, he was inducted into the Volleyball Hall of Fame, together with such big names as Lorenzo Bernardi, Magaly Carvajal, Hugo Conte, Rita Crockett, and Frantistek Stibitz.
